What does it cost to sell beats?
Nothing upfront. You buy an upload package to list beats (K150 for 10 or K300 for 25), then a flat 8% platform commission is taken from each sale. You keep the remaining 92%.
How do upload credits work?
Each upload package grants a set number of credits (one per beat). Listing a new beat consumes one credit. Editing an existing beat, updating its price, or re-publishing it costs nothing.
Why 8%?
The 8% commission covers secure mobile-money payments, hosting your audio and stems, license PDF generation, buyer support and marketplace promotion. There are no monthly store fees.
How much will I actually receive from a sale?
For example, a beat sold at K1,000 puts K920.00 in your wallet (92% of every sale), with K80.00 going to the platform. See the tables above.
When do I get paid?
The moment a buyer’s payment is confirmed, your share is credited to your TunePlay wallet instantly. You can withdraw from your dashboard at any time.
How do withdrawals work?
Choose your mobile money provider (MTN, Airtel or Zamtel) and enter your number, set an amount above K50.00, and the payout is sent to your wallet immediately — no admin approval required.
Is a paid subscription required to sell?
No. You only pay for upload credits and the 8% sale commission. Premium plans are optional extras for listeners who want ad-free streaming and exclusive content — 60% of your subscription goes directly to the artist royalty pool.
What if a buyer never pays?
A beat is only sold after the buyer’s payment is confirmed. Until then nothing is credited, no commission is charged, and the beat stays listed for other buyers.
How many times is a beat sold?
Each beat is sold once, exclusively. After a successful purchase it is removed from the marketplace, so you always know exactly what you earn on every beat.
Can artists upload their own songs?
Yes. Artists buy a song package (K25 for 1 song, K150 for 10, or K300 for 25) and publish songs directly from their dashboard — each new song uses one credit.
What do paid songs cost the artist?
Free downloads cost nothing. Paid downloads carry a flat 5% platform fee, so you keep 95% of every sale — for example a song sold at K10 pays you K9.50.
